Your teeth straightening needs
Orthodontics is a special branch of the dental industry that deals with the study and treatment of tooth irregularity or malocclusion’s. Basically these dental professionals take care of improper bites that sometimes happen with tooth development. Dental professionals or Orthodontists try to modify the jaw and teeth to align with a persons bite and shape of their mouth. If a person needs braces this is the dental professional they will see. The orthodontist will do what they have to do to align the teeth and gums and the jawbone.
Through whatever technique they use whether it be surgical or otherwise, most people are generally only aware of the after effects, which are the braces. The braces are what the orthodontist puts on a person’s teeth or they may be aligners if you go for something like Invisalign after they have aligned them into the position they would like them to stay in. The braces then hold or keep everything in place so that the bones, gums and teeth can realign and form the way the orthodontist has positioned them. So therefore many people don’t think about what happens before the braces are put on, and this is an extremely important process. The orthodontist will determine the correct alignment for that particular patient.

Orthodontists will have their patients wear a dental device called a retainer, which helps to keep the teeth in their correct position while the bone reforms around them. Retainers are usually worn full-time for about six months to a year and after which they might just be worn at night. Sometimes teeth can stay aligned after the orthodontist treats them without the use of a retainer, but this is rare. So the orthodontist will 99 times out of 100 want their patient to wear the retainer. After all of that work the orthodontist and indeed the patient wants to make sure that everything is going to form together and realign in the correct way. This is why the retainer is very important, to make sure that the procedure that has been done will take.
