Braces, Inman aligners and invisalign; a straight forward procedure for straight teeth
The Inman and the Invisalign braces are the most popular choice of people seeking to fix their misaligned teeth. The brace used to conjure up a vision of a horrible looking set of metal wires cemented onto the teeth, these days science and computer programs have come together to send that vision where it belongs, in the distant past. Both of these braces are also removable and mobile, that means they have all their pressure points built within the brace itself. This allows the patient to take them out when they aren`t convenient to wear, such as when having face to face meetings, eating, cleaning your teeth or even sleeping.

It all begins with some photos and X-rays being taken, and then a mould is made of your teeth. All this information and a 3D image of the mould is fed into a computer program; this module will then work out all the pressure measurements for the entire procedure. Your orthodontist and dentist will have all this information to enable them to stay ahead of the game. You will need to visit them every two weeks to have a new brace fitted, this will also ensure the procedure is working properly. The computer will also produce a film of the whole procedure, so you will be able to see exactly what will happen and when.
The film is a computer generated image (CGI) and is in 3D like modern films at the cinema. The blood flow is also altered to make sure that the teeth don’t revert back to their former misalignment; this allows new bone to build up behind the teeth as they move, then it blocks their return. The braces are available in two designs as they both do different types of re-alignment. The Inman is designed for front teeth only, both top and bottom. It is a clear device except for the bar that runs across the front to which everything is attached, it isn’t completely invisible, but near enough. The Invisalign is marketed as an invisible brace and has no bar running across the front; it also straightens both front and back teeth. These two are the designs that most people ask for, so their success is matched with their popularity. The cost will vary from patient to patient, and the time it takes is also varied according to the amount of movement needed. Your dentist will be able to advise you better.
